Our time in Santa Cruz/Coban was over and now it was time to return home. It was all sort of bittersweet— we said our goodbyes to the people we met on the mountainside and packed our bags for the trip back to Guatemala City.
We had a 6-hour drive back to Guatemala City. The drive to our first stop, McDonald's, was very quiet haha.
After brunch, we finally reached Guatemala City. Our flight wasn't for another 6 hours, so we took a break and walked around a part of the city.
After an hour, we returned to our van, but the van had broken down. Our drivers got right on it, and after a few pushes (and moral support) from the whole team, the van started again. We then headed over to our dinner plans.

Right after dinner, we went to the airport for our redeye. The missionary prayed for us and then we were off.
We arrived in Virginia around 6am on Saturday. After going through customs & immigration, we picked up our bags then got into the vans back to our home church.
At church, we were met with many familiar faces. Reverend Han prayed for us— a prayer of thanks and praise to God.
And that was that.
Thank you, God, for the past week.
Thank you everyone for supporting us through prayer! We appreciate you all and hope we were able to share the blessings of God to you through these blog posts.
See you soon!
Anna
Notes:
Please continue to pray for the people of Guatemala. One thing our missionary talked about was the importance of supporting the future generation of Guatemala so that they can help Guatemala flourish. Please pray that the future generations of Guatemala will have faith in Jesus and would God restore Guatemala through His children.
I also learned that the festival yesterday involved some sort of idol worship. Something about the celebration of some sort of cultural and religious tradition. But the emcee was Christian, and so when he invited us up on stage, he was able to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Praise God for what He had planned that day.
